There are those who think that an inpidual’s birth country dictates that person’s personal culture; whereas, others feel it has little consequ标准ence. This essay shall explore both viewpoints; however, in my opinion, I believe one’s mother country plays an integral role in forming one’s cultural personality.

One of the main reasons why some believe one’s country of birth, for those that have emigrated, plays a minimal role in that person’s cultural identity is because it is felt that the adoptive culture exudes a powerful presence in the migrant’s life. This presence manifests itself through the daily interactions the immigrant encounters, through the protocols of behavior the person adopts, and even through the language. Eventually, after a period of adaptation, the person will become assimilated into the new country in which the migrant resides, and particularly if that person takes on the citizenship of 视频that country, will become culturally similar with those born in that country.

On the other hand, even in countries that have robust ‘melting pot’ policies, such as the United States, acting as a magnet for people from all over the 的world, the immigrant may find it extremely difficult to re-socialize themselves by taking on the cultural norms of their newly adopted country. Though the second generation born into their parent’s adoptive country may assimilate easily, the parents, no matter how long they may have lived in the country of their naturalization, will tend to be largely influenced by the culture of their origin. This cultural residue from the original culture may diminish over time, nevertheless, the person’s cultural core will most likely remain unchanged.

In conclusion, despite that the act of naturalizing into a new country may, over time, increasingly acculturate an immigrant, it seems clear to me that the cultural heart of a person inherited from their country of origin will remain significant, defining that person’s cultural personality long after they have adopted a new country of residence.
