Fighting back: Singapore Airlines

Running a full-service airline in South-East Asia at the moment is not for the faint-h经济学earted. SIA has not simply followed the traditional formula of cutting costs and increasing revenue by offering services such as aircraft maintenance to other airlines.

It has fought back against low-cost carriers by operating its own, Scoot and Tigerair (whi讲义ch 是什么merged last year). By using different sized aircraft and business models, it can serve destinations that would otherwise no longer be viable using its full-service brand. In other words: if you can’t beat them, join them.
